Last night when CT and I were hanging around for the prize giving, an irate woman approached my missus asking her if; "she had anything to do with this" (meaning the event).

Seemed like a local resident who was fed up.

Are you aware of any restlessness in the natives of Alford?

Fingers crossed, I'm putting two and two together and making five.

Cheers,

Eric :)

As far as we know (GAC) things are good. Feedback from the museum has been excellent. The musuem have had so many events on this year (truck show, bikes, motorvation, GAC sprint etc) that I can't see how someone can complain about one sprint, without complaining about the musuem as a whole.

We were told, originally, that we had to start later than we'd like to wait until the Church had gone in. After discussion with the musuem curator, we dicovered this was not the case and we could start earlier and finish later, thus allowing GAC to run 80 cars.

I think, if this individual has a problem with events at the museum, she should think how much visitors to the museum bring to Alford in terms of revenue throughout the year.

On a similar note, the musuem has been there for quite a number of years, meaning only people who have lived in the village for over 20 years have really any grounds to complain, anyone moving there recently would have to accept that the museum (and associated activities) is a major part of the community.

I also find that noise does not really travel that far from the track. I left early yesterday and the single seaters were still on their first timed runs. I stopped just out on the main street in Alford to use my phone (like beside the Vale hotel) and I was surprised how little noise there was. It is, in my opinion, difficult to complain about noise when the RAF fly their jets over Alford on a regular basis.

All in all, I think this is maybe one irate resident failing to see the big picture.
(You should've strapped her into Wallace's car and sent him off on a run - that'd shut her up!)

Good stuff - thanks for the reply.

Sets my mind at rest

Cracking day yesterday - from a personal perspective, one of the most enjoyable events for a long time.

Cheers,

Eric

Yes, the runs seemed to be very good - once you all got them!

I turned up about 1 and was amazed how slow the event was - just starting second practice at that time was a bit of a joke and if I'd been competing I'd have 'expressed my displeasure' at the Clerk of the Course!

Anyway, the real stuff, the competing, seemed good - Wallace's second practice was very impressive, especially with his mistake - have you got results you can post up as I left early?

How's Matthew Rae's car? I think the crash looked worse than it really was but what's the damage?

Aye, it was slow which was frustrating at first.

Don't have the full results. There's only one which sticks in my mind

Aye, Wallace was brilliant after his second practice, I wondered if he might get FTD

Matt's car didn't seem too bad. Nose cone and radiator need replaced but bonnet seems ok and chasis looks straight.

Cheers,

Eric

Aye, and as you point out in yer email, what's trully amazing ...

21st (178.75 pts) Murray Marshall
22nd (178.17 pts) Eric Kiltie

For us to be competing together and as friends, it's astonishing that we've ended up so close after a whole season and not always doing the same events.

Well done Corpulent fellah

Cheers,

Eric

Aye indeed, different classes, similar(ish) cars and so close at the end of the season, it has been a blast and brilliant final run of the season for you Mr Kiltie

Credit to the organisers, and especially to the marshals (with one l) for allowing us all to compete, couldn't do it without them. Whoever arranged the weather has done a good job too, not too many wet events.
Thanks to all who have been involved this season and will see some of you at the dinner dance, come on Kiltie book your room at the hotel and dust down the tux

I second the above, a great season and thanks to all those involved in organising.

A bit novel for me to be just spectating but still good fun. (Although surprised to find that tut had blown the gaff on my new mota.)

Well done folks, some impressive performances. That time must bode well for next season Eric! Superb, shows the wee motor can give the Hyabusa'a a run for their money!

Hopefully see you all for a wee run or failing that at the Dinner.

Cheers,
Ali

Cheers Ali - don't know if you knew but I got fastest ADMC member - which was nice

It's been a pretty crap season / year for me with being ill and all. This was a cracking way to end it.

Nice for CT and I to both get a pot ... and that the rotund fella set a new A5 class record.

Vid loaded up now ...

1st timed run (55.85 / from the gallery)

2nd time run (55.33 / in-car)

Cheers,

Eric
