Over the years I had several dealings with the nice people at Mickey Oates Motorcycles in Glasgow, but since moving away a couple of years ago I rather lost touch with them. Tonight I was on their website - possibly looking for a new machine - and I was shocked to read they've closed down.
Can anybody tell me when this happened, and possibly shed some light as to why they could trade no longer?
Another great wee business which will be sadly missed.

The company was wound up in feb 2024 due to not being able to pay off its debts. I looked at mickey oates for a new suzuki gsxr750 and found them to be expensive in comparison to other dealerships and did not have alot of stock. I also found them rude and dismissive. That was in 2013 and i never went back so for me not a massive loss.
The scran van outside is lovely, decent people too.
Mickey oates was expensive, with limited stock and disinterested counter staff. The contrast to J&S and Jim Allen motorcycles was massive, it doesnt surprise me they weren't busy, i know where I was happier spending my money.
Its a shame too, the location was handy for me, I am in and out of ADI distribution every week.
I am glad people who bought bikes from them were happy, but every time I went in to buy jackets, helmets, boots or parts I left empty handed.
