Dodge / Mopar Scotland Owners
Discussion
Hello!
Despite being on this forum since 2006, I have mainly been in the HSV and Monaro section, on account of the car being a Monaro (oddly enough....) Now that its been joined by a Challenger Jailbreak, I have been trying to see where I can find other like minded folk in Scotland. I did see a Challenger on Skye a few weeks ago, but going the other way and no chance to see what it was other than white with a couple of red stripes up and over the bonnet and roof.
I also met a Charger owner, Fraser, at a meet at Galston in May who mentioned there were quite a few Dodge owners around Scotland. Just a case of finding where they hang out!
Cheers

Very nice. A friend of mine stays in Orkney and has a Mustang - Kevin Scolley.
My friend with the Challenger was in Florida recently and investigated buying a new Hellcat, but taxes etc put paid to that idea. He's updating the one he has though - probably a supercharger and other performance enhancers.

Hi Pete,
The Hellcats seem to be hugely in demand all over at the moment. There was a Redeye in the dealer in Eaglesham, but that got exported to Cyprus. And one at a dealer in Oxford got exported to Jamaica. I am guessing that they are hard to get hold of, hence what your friend was seeing in Florida.

FL-based Scat Pack owner here. I did explore forced induction - you need to be VERY careful with Eagle (5.7) and Apache (6.4) Mopars. Because the reciprocating assemblies are cast, rather than forged components, boosting more than 4-5 psi very frequently results in catastrophic failure.My friend with the Challenger was in Florida recently and investigated buying a new Hellcat, but taxes etc put paid to that idea. I looked at a 2.0l Whipple with appropriate fuel pumps, injectors and intercooler - plus forged rods, pins and pistons with beefier lands and bigger compression rings and a high output oil pump - all too do the job properly and deliver around 550whp. The cost was around $14k - meaning Hellcat money for the whole package and the Hellcat comes with a factory warranty. Didn't really make sense....
Here's mine:
Nice! Yeah, the costs for a "ready made" one are a bit eyewatering. I was looking at a Red Eye at Eaglesham Garage near East Kilbride, but it was sold for re-export to Cyprus by the time I got along for a look. Then 3 Jailbreaks came along in Oxford, so any thoughts of economy went out the window. I keep telling myself its an investment, but probably just to fool my head into thinking the heart was right all along!
Will bear you guys in mind next time south - Eaglseham Garage will be the appointed garage for any works, so Fife / Angus / East Coast is only a minor detour to and from Orkney. Meanwhile, if you ever take the urge to do the North Coast 500 (heavens know's why as it has ruined the road for locals with a perpetual stream of motorhomes.....), well, Orkney is just a short hop over from the several ferry terminals that you will pass on the way!

Seeing what looks like a black Challenger RT/SRT/SXT in a gallery of a meet at South Queensferry on 2nd January;
Sorry, both poor quality pics, but are backgrounds of much larger pics on the Autobahn Scotland website. Looks like it has headlight covers fitted. Anyone know this one? I have a feeling I might have passed it in August last year on the A96 near Fochabers as we were heading for the Buckie Car show. And at a Cars and Coffee in Inverness in September, there was words of a black one in Aberdeen that sometimes came up to Inverness.
