Smart meter supply/installation, Aberdeen

We switched to Octopus to take advantage of their attractive tariffs for EV charging and were told that we'd get our smart meter (required for said tariffs) installed FOC within about a month. That hasn't happened and they are unable to give any indication at all when it might be possible to get it, they actually suggested we find an installer in our area ourselves. Anyone around here had one installed privately (i.e. not arranged via their energy supplier) they'd recommend?
