Hi, considering a concert in December at the Queens Hall but have no idea about where to stay.
Any recommendations for an inexpensive bed & breakfast nearby please?
May get the bus down from Oban to Glasgow and train to Edinburgh so probably no need for parking.
Thanks in advance

No specific recommendations, but there are lots of guest houses south of Nicolson Street on the same road - probably 15-20 mins away depending on how far down you go. Should be cheaper that time of year. There is also a Travel Lodge type place right at the bottom of that road at Cameron Toll IIRC. Maybe 25 min walk if that, and easy bus ride to Queens Hall.

Yeah lots of hotels and b&bs between Nicholson street and cameron toll.

Depending on when you're planning to stay it's worth booking early. Edinburgh is very popular for christmas and new year.

Thanks Folk, not knowing Edinburgh at all, I looked for Cameron Toll & worked my way north on Google.
You're right about prices as you get near Christmas, yikes as Scooby would say!

A possibilty that may save you money and is worth considering is there is a Premier inn next to Edinburgh Park train station.
It's only about 10 minutes from Waverley by train (you will need to check running times for the way back out at night), there's also a tram stop there.
It's a bit of a walk from Waverley to the Queens Hall also.
Hope you enjoy the concert.

Cameron toll is aboutcas far away as Princes street is in the other direction. I would stay Princes street side as you will have the christmas markets to entertain you pre concert.
Theres plenty of Premier inns and Travellodges in the city centre.
Cameron toll on the other hand has a Mcdonalads , costa drive thru and a bad shopping centre made up mainly of a gym and a sainsburys and an aldi.

A bus ( no3,7,49) from either end will take you 10 minutes to get to the queens hall.

Thanks all, reserved a room about 0.4miles from Queens Hall, south towards Cameron Toll.
Prices were higher the nearer town, due I assume to proximity to Christmas and it being a Friday.

(Joanne Shaw Taylor is at the Queens Hall, been trying to see her for a few years, was supposed to be playing at Glasgow about three year ago but CV19 got in the way)

Two motel ones in town (on/close to princes street) are quite reasonably price and quite good quality/clean (though small) accomodation, normally.
