Hi,

I recently had advisories at my 997.1 GT3 RS’ MOT saying the the lower control arm bushings were split.

I’m wondering if there are any Porsche / suspension specialists recommended as I’d like to replace the bushings and rebuild with aftermarket control arms vs just replacing the whole arms.

Cheers,
Martin

No word on where you are or how far you are willing to travel?

Suffice to say, I used David Philips Autos in Edinburgh. Knows his apples.

(IIRC an ex OPC master tech?)

I’m north of Aberdeen but happy to travel to Edinburgh or Glasgow. As much as I’d like to go to Centre of Gravity, 8.5hrs is a bit much!

I posted on the Porsche forum as well and someone else mentioned David Philips so that looks positive. I’d never heard of him but his website states he used to be an OPC master tech and also Team Scuderia head mechanic.

Kenny Dunn, now retired, recommended him to me many years ago. You can arrange to drop your car off on a weekend and collect it the next. Or arrange
ahead of time and spend a night in Edinburgh. I don't know where you are located north of Aberdeen, but I live both in Edinburgh and Aberdeenshire. The bypass has made a huge difference in traveling time. It's a two hour drive now, depending on time of day and roadworks of course.

You could also use Peter at Motortune in Shotts.

Both Peter and David have very good reputations as Porsche independents in Scotland.
