Wow, is that the one near the junction of Possil and Ruchill? It always amazes me that stations in locations which you might say are poorer areas are where you see higher prices.

Some of the lowest prices I've paid recently have been at the Gulf station in Bishopbriggs, the highest have typically been at the Gulf in Muirhead (the one that was unmanned until recently) - I never see anyone fill up there and it was 179.9 yesterday for diesel which is the highest I've seen.

If you want to avoid duplication, there's an existing thread on Fuel Prices:

I'm sure Hawthorn St was £1.99 when I passed at 6:30 tonight.

Pure profiteering - the fuel station owners buy their fuel 6 months in advance.

Yes interestingly I saw one of the owners claiming he purchases fuels daily hence daily price change I always assumed prices were set at or about delivery

Simply not true. It's almost universally weekly or daily pricing.

I generally use Morrison's in Aberdeen. Last time I filled up a week ago it was 150.7 for unleaded and now it's up 10p in a week.

I did try putting in Shell premium for a while but it's just too expensive now.

So my garage manager talking nonsense then. I’m sure MFG do not buy their fuel a week before it’s in their pumps.

Yes. MFG absolutely do -they specifically were interviewed on the radio last week and said they priced weekly.

Ask your "manager" what they do if the price falls in the 6-months? Does he just take the loss (and go out of business immediately)? Basic market economics dictates that buying fuel 6-months in advance is not happening anywhere, if it were the prices would be a lot more stable and jump in larger, less frequent increments.

Son driven down to Leeds why are service station prices similar to local prices in Glasgow instead of 10p+ dearer like they usually are?
