Does anyone know if the No Entry/One Way system along Cowgate is monitored/policed and still in force? The temporary no entry signs are still in place.

I found the restrictions relating to it online dated from a few years ago but can’t find anything recent?

Cowgate areas a mess just now due to the royal mile being shut from the st marys street junction up to the radison blu for cobble repairs. Its best avoided if possible.

Yeah been in place for months now. You might already know this but you can get as far along as Guthrie Street and turn up this if it helps - that's what I've been doing.

One way through from the grass market towards Holyrood.

Gets closed completely on a Friday and Saturday at 10pm
For the drunken hoards.

As said Guthrie Street is accessible but can be gridlock at times especially when there’s a big queue at the lights at St Marys street when it’s busy.

Way worse just now with North Bridge shut northbound.

Thanks all.

Are there camera’s monitoring it during the day?

I think my vehicle has been driven up it after joining from one of the car parks next to the Holiday Inn. The driver isn’t a local and wasn’t aware of the closure. They’ve panicked and appear to have gone through some no entry signs further up Cowgate.

If they drove to st marys street they are fine. If they drove to the grassmarket the wrong way up the one way cowgate then Im not sure if there is actually any cameras. The illuminated no entry signs are atleast 10 yesrs old if not older and I dont think they have cameras.

Theres no cameras. More likely to be confronted by the oncoming cars who will soon tell you have gone the wrong way.

Plenty do it in error.

No it changes every day almost sometimes it’s open sometimes not think it depends if there’s work going on under the bridge.
