EV Grant - Car Charger (Home)

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has done the above? I’ve attempted to read on the government website and almost fell asleep.

Would be interested to hear anyones comments.

I used BP, partly because of a comparatively reasonable, fixed price installation.
However, there was a lengthy wait for the install and lots of chasing up to get it done.

I think the Scottish part of the grant has gone down to £250 and will reduce further with time. Don't delay.
Businesses can also get these grants per individual device.

4 months on and no complaints about performance, it's "doing what it said on the box."

Plenty of other installers out there, get phoning............

Happy to help a ph’er as an installer of such things… Grants are easy = £350 OZEV grant and £250 cash-back from Energy Saving Trust. Lots of charge points to choose from now so happy to help

We used podpoint for my wifes new hybrid car which is due to arrive shortly. We placed the order on 18th august and paid £900 up front. We only got the charger fitted on 18th november after numerous emails and phonecalls. They stated that they lost the order! Customer service is shocking nobody replies to emails and you spend 1/2 hour on the phone in a queue. They admitted that theres nowhere near enough staff to deal with customers. Im still awaiting a decision on compensation- il believe it when i see it. Dont use podpoint!

I used Brad @ Alert Electrical ([e-mail]) and had a Hypervolt charger installed.

They take the £350 off the charger price straight away and also assist with claiming the £250 back after installation.

A few forms to fill out but nothing too stressful for the sake of £250.
