Hi everyone,

I am a bit stuck and have been for a while and could really use some help/advice.

I have a cateham K series and need a garage that can collect it, and at a minimum re-bleed it and test it for overheating. I am vaguely worried the HG may have gone. There was some slight..."stuff" floating on the water in the expansion tank but it was pretty minimal and the car is old so im not sure if it's just dust/dirt or something...?

The car has had a couple of very intermittent over-heating episodes and then was generally fine out driving but would quickly over-heat when I came back and stopped to put it in the garage.

I'm based between Stirling and Glasgow so anywhere in those places or near Loch Lomond.

I've tried bleeding it but they're very fiddly to bleed and I've got nowhere except a burnt hand.

I'm at the point where I just want to throw some money at someone and just have the damn thing working...which is maybe an expensive mindset when speaking to a garage!

The best place for you will be https://www.dreadnoughtgarage.com/ up in Callander.

If they can't help, I'm handy with the spanners and have some experience with the K-series as a MGF VVC owner who's done a head gasket and associated belts etc. But I'm down in East Calder. On the upside I can arrange safe transport for your toy (I'm assuming it is a toy and not a daily driver biggrin).

probably too late but you could always try Brayon Classic Engineering, they work on a lot of interesting cars. just down from the Duck Bay marina.
