Question for GetCarter

I'm looking for some advice here. I'm taking a trip with a group of friends following a lot of your bestdrive route. Starting Glasgow, up over GlenCoe, past Eilean Donan, then to Strathcarron, Applecross, Torridon then up to Ullapool.

The following day I am looking for suggestions on a route, starting and finishing in Ullapool, probably about 200-250 miles.

I was looking at something like this, but don't know the roads and would appreciate any comments or suggestions for a better drive.

I am off up there for a tour in August. The B869 from Lochinver via Stoer back onto the A894 is without a doubt the most outrageous and mental road I have ever driven.

Blind crests leading straight into extremely sharp bends with only a couple of feet between the armco the car and a rock face. Was following a Type R engined Elise which seemed very suited to that type of road.

I was about to say that Steve hasn't been around these parts for a while but looking at his recent posts, he is indeed, very much, with us.
