Currently looking for somewhere to have my 987 Boxster serviced in Aberdeen - if it were my car for the last 10 years I would've kept up the servicing at Porsche Main Dealer, however it has visited specialists for the past 10 years, which is no bad thing, except for the fact there are no Porsche Specialists remotely near Aberdeen.

I have heard mixed feedback on Bavaria Auto Werke, some really good, some bad, never anything terrible though. They always seem to have some cool stuff in, as every time I have been passing there is a M-car's and/or Porsche's, and other enthusiast German cars of some sort sitting outside.

Does anyone on here recommend them? Or have any horror stories? Or have you had your 987 serviced at Porsche Aberdeen recently, and been charged a reasonable rate?

Thanks in advance!

If it's your only car this won't help, but I highly recommend David Philips in Edinburgh. You could always arrange an overnight trip. Or drop off at the weekend and pick up the next.

Sign up for the Porsche classic scheme, you get decent discount at the main dealer that way. At least don't rule it out until you get a quote from them.

I've got a 944, and like you I was struggling to find a specialist in Aberdeen; I ended up using the main dealer. The other place to try is AW Autotech, I believe the owner is a member of Porsche Club GB.

I used Bavaria a number of years ago to swap out calipers on my Mini, and they were fine. But I have heard stories since.

I used to use Broomhill Motors for any non dealer work in the past, Mark there always provided a reliable & honest service, I believe they used to do Lotus work in the past as well.

Haven't used them for a while to be honest, but would do if the need arises, assuming still the same set up that is.

PS - They're not a Porsche specialist per se, but if it's standard basic work then no issues.

Thanks guys! Plenty of recommendations here for me to have a look at!

Sandy, you don't happen to be the gent who has some of the best taste in PTS colours, do you?

Carden Motors, Broomhill Road?

If so Mark was still there 12 months ago and I got the usual excellent service. Top place.
