All the lines have been that essentially the border is closed, that you cannot travel outwith your Local Authority area, and that they would be policing the border more heavily.

This was my thoughts and with the current crisis im not so keen on traveling to pick it up either. Im hoping the deposit can hold the car for a bit longer or i might just have to let the car slip out of my fingers.

I've done two purchases from Aberdeen (based in Edinburgh) for an ideal spec car.
You will really need to wait till the regulations come out to check and go through them thoroughly.
The regulations and the guidance and what Karen from Facebook says all may be completely different but in the end regulations trumps all.
You builder however may have a completely different interpretation of the same.
I've split the difference.
I have a 'utility repair' to be completed (no hot water pressure out of some taps, so plumber is heading to the basement to work out what's broken), but I've put off the joinery work and anything else to do with major works.
Being in the middle of the city, I'm not running the risk.

A 2012 S3 Black edition with stacks of paperwork & history, low miles and all the mods. A rare find IMHO. Im just waiting to hear back from the Seller.
Sounds familiar.I bought a 2009 S3 Sportback from the main dealer in Aberdeen, low mileage, excellent condition (oil and gas worker - loads of money, little time), complete with: black leather, S-Tronic serviced, unmarked wheels, new tyres, full Audi history, pan-roof, Revo Stage 1 tune & intake. Kept it a year and sold it privately for what I paid for it despite 10k miles on the clock. Cost me a service.

So with a new 'Stay at Home' edict, but the construction industry staying open, does that mean that I can or I can't start people working on my loft conversion in my private house?
Gut feeling is no, but I'm starting to lose the plot.
This page https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covi... under “home repairs, tradespeople” suggests that tradespeople should only go into your house to carry out “essential work”. It is likely to be difficult to justify a loft conversion as essential workGut feeling is no, but I'm starting to lose the plot.

Lovely. Its a Red Sportback DSG i was hoping to collect but its vague weather im able to make the collection legally.
With the intake it did the full woosh-bangs, and kept up with my friends much newer manual VW Golf R. Neither of us claim to be proper drivers, but interesting what difference a decade made.Dr_Rick said:

If stopped, AndiSun could try the “to fulfil a legal obligation” exception. His obligations as a buyer under the contract of sale and purchase include taking delivery, and if there was no agreement with the seller that the seller would deliver, he’s got to go to collect or breach his obligation. If he couldn’t go there to collect, then I don’t see why a third party delivery man would be allowed to, or why the seller would be allowed to bring it to him, so the deal would be off completely (unless deferred by agreement until a later date) All the lines have been that essentially the border is closed, that you cannot travel outwith your Local Authority area, and that they would be policing the border more heavily.
