Recommendations for Differential rebuilder in Glasgow
Discussion
I was hoping that I may be able to get some recent feedback or commendations for a rebuild of a front diff on a Porsche 996 C4.
My brother in law has been quoted a frankly astonishing £7000 plus VAT to have the very mildest whine from his front diff rectified.
I have a feeling it is likely to be bearings rather than anything dire.
Frankly I just can't believe that this unit has to be replaced rather than rebuilt, as he was previously advised.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to who in Glasgow / Edinburgh or Stirling would be worth getting in touch with, ideally based on first hand experience.
Thanks in advance.

Have you talked to Motor tune in Shotts.
Peter there is a top guy, and whilst he won't be doing the rebuild, he has many years of experience working on Porsche.
He could see you / brother in the right direction.
Convinient location wise as well....
Don't have a Porsche any more but used to take mine to him and it was a 100mile round trip....
