Until recently I had only seen scamera vans out and about in the north-east during daylight hours, however in the last 2 or 3 weeks I've seen or been told about quite a few sat up in the dark. Has this been happening long round here, or have they upgraded their kit to be able to work in the dark lately? Or maybe someone has figured they will get a higher rate of pay working non-standard hours...

I've seen 2 in the dark on the A947 and one on the B999 within the last week.

Used to see cameras in the dark only around Dundee, but yeah recently the A947 has seemed to see this too, it’s not playing the game fairly ! (they are out there just now by the way)

(I’d be interested to know though if you do see them late if they manage to capture your details if you perform a u-turn instead of driving past for identification....)

Might be part of this (taken from North East Police report in Sept)

I've only seen them in the dark on the Kingsway in Dundee before, not good to hear they have jumped on that bandwagon up here too frown

I guess it's some camera upgrade/latest technology allowing it
