1 night parking - Edinburgh airport
Discussion
You can usually prebook the terminal surface car park (right next to the short stay multi-storey) for around £10 a night but I think they’re not taking bookings for it at the minute because of building work going on.
Failing that there’s loads of on street parking round the back of Hermiston gate on the Sighthill industrial estate where your car won’t stand out or get towed as all the car dealerships use it - maybe a 5 min walk to the tram.

Thanks all, I ended up parking at Hermiston P+R, which was a bad idea. There is no way of walking from there to the tram, at least not easily, and so had to get an Uber from there to the airport, which cost about as much as the bus from Ferrytoll P+R. Only Ferrytoll is nearly 10 miles closer to home and on the right side of the bridge. Hermiston is 5 miles in the wrong direction.
Next time will look for a back street near a close tram stop and do that.

We usually use the official Edinburgh Airport parking, but only when it's cheap/there is an offer on. Otherwise the next best option is Premiair which is located on the road to the airport, and they run a shuttle bus every 10 mins, which takes 3-4 mins to get to the terminal. In the past it has been circa. £13-14 for 24 hours, but it seems to have go up to £18. Still worth it when you factor in the hassle of parking/tram etc.

So has anyone actually had witnessed cars being towed away from P&R at the airport? Everytime I park there for a day it feels like loads of cars sat there overnight already...
I had an early morning flight the other day and parked at Ingleston about 4:30am. There were about 2 dozen cars already there, mostly parked down towards the 'airport' end of the car park, and it looked very much like some of them had been there all night. lordf said:
I just take the hit and park in the multi-story, it's not really that expensive and includes the FastTrack security pass, no hassle, no faffing and the cars pretty safe.
Exactly as once you land coming home it is a bargain, straight into the car and gone, no faffing around waiting on buses, trams or what ever else method you choose.hkp57 said:

Indeed, esp when one has been skiing and the like. faffing around with ski bags and buses isn't much fun, I think I paid £69 when I pre booked well in advance.lordf said:

Whereas a return from FerryToll is £14..... For £55 I'll spend 15 mins on the bus each way even with ski bags and avoid the bridge. Condi said:

I am blessed with living on the correct side of the water and spending money to avoid buses is somewhat of a hobby.Gassing Station | Scotland | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
