When I was kid in the 70s, maybe even early 80s, we used to go on holiday to a caravan site in Fraserburgh. I learnt to swim in a swimming pool there but memory is hazy as to whether the pool was on the site or elsewhere.

I do remember walking from site to hardour with my Granda to watch the fishing boats come in and we were also next to the sand dunes.
Looking on google maps there seems to be a caravan site at the front but it is tiny compared to what my memory of it is! Anyone able to shed some light on where the site of the late 70s would have been?

The missus and I are coming up north for a week in June, have hired a house up Aberdeen area and I plan to visit all the old places like Pennan, Banff etc. Also have a memory of walking from Banff to Fraserburgh along the coast???

Any info would be appreciated re caravan site.

If it was an outdoor pool it could have been Tarlair.

The caravan site of old is now the astro turf sports field more or less on the beach. There is a running track next to it as well. The remaining caravan site is now much smaller and at the end of the beach, on the road you used to walk into the harbour on.
