Monte Carlo classic - clydebank
Discussion
I’m in Glasgow at the moment for work and drive past a sign this morning advertising the Monte Carlo Classique/Historique as starting from Clydebank tomorrow.
Does anyone know the time/location? I reckon I could slip away from the office for a couple of hours and would like to attend.

In the end i got there around 4:45 and stayed until maybe 7pm. This was in 20min intervals with rests in the car and cafe warming up as my long exile in dubai has made me somewhat averse to glasgow weather!
It was foooooking freezing!
Will post some pics later but i really want/need a hillman imp in my life. Massive kudos to those in the morris bullnose and the old rileys, can’t have been a fun drive down overnight at those speeds and temperatures.
Glad i went though, great event and some really lovely cars. The doretti swallow was a real treat

Thank you, good to see Team Riley cars and crews at the start.Considering we were only going to Dumfries on the Heritage Run not bad! Freezing fog down the A76 wasn't nice, neither were the frozen washers or the wipers that just dont clean the screen (its an issue with the new rubber that they all come with now, a) they last about a year and b) they just dont form to the curves of the screen well), then the mainbeam failed near Thornhill (i'm experimenting with another way of switching dip/main rather than the original floor switch) and the switch went bad, at Auldgirth time control / endpoint the dips went off briefly as well... The final issue was the mega cold, I have an uprated rad due to the engine spec and it was just too cold, engine temps were only 45 deg and thus no heat for us in the car!
Glad you liked it, always gets a good reception
