bump steer yes but more than that, it will remain pulling one direction, until another decent bump or 160 turn...then will either drive straight or pull other direction.

If it is under manufacturer warranty (and not an Arnold Clark warranty) then you can take it to another VW dealer. An independent can't do work under warranty but usually have lower labour rates so if you need a second opinion they might be worth checking out.

alrighty i hate having to take it elsewhere but the guys looking at the car dont seem to be pickinh up on things... so ill hunt for a vw independant place maybe the exchange of money makes things get looked at in more detail than warranty work

What you could do is go to a mot garage and depending if temp has the shaker then see if can have it shaked. Klassiks motor company I coatbridge can do it. Basically car on ramp and there's a part on ramp that shakes the steering and suspension without having to have someone in car trying to shake steering ect. Mainly a mot garage with a ramp set up for 1 tester should have the facility

Another thing to try. Is park wheel up against kerb and try moving steering slightly which will cross of the steering rack and column for play ect or if.has a steering box

I'm not sure how far you are from Perth, but Burnbrae Garage at Methven are highly recommended. http://www.burnbrae.co.uk/
