Perth - places to eat and drink
Discussion
I am spending an afternoon/early evening in Perth in the next couple of weeks.
Any recommendations for city centre bars for drinking in, real ale / "craft" beer type of place?
We'll need to get food at some point, but nothing fancy and avoiding chain stuff if possible.
It's over 20 years since I have spent any time there, so no idea what the place is like now - I was particularly disappointed with an afternoon in Stirling recently on the decent beer bar front, so hopefully the fair city has more to offer.

Greyfriars in South St usually has a couple of real ales on tap. Wetherspoons usually do as well although a chain. Further out up Glasgow Rd, the Cherrybank Inn is good for real ale and also does good food.
Back in the centre, Pacos has a good menu as does Kisas across from it. If you're in Perth on a Sunday and like a good carvery, highly recommend The Anglers Inn in Guildtown, about 5 miles from Perth, you'd be best to book as it's very busy. Unlike most carveries, you can choose rare, medium or well done cuts of the meats on offer.
