Hi all,

Just thought I would throw up a quick thread, long time lurker on the forum but I have just moved to Edinburgh area (well Linlithgow actually) and I have also just put a deposit down on an E92 M3 so it would be great to meet up with other owners and enthusiasts in the area! I am also hoping to get out on a track day or two some time this summer so if anyone could point me in the direction of some groups etc. that organise track days that would be great. And finally I will likely be looking for a decent independent to look after my new M3 so if anyone has any recommendations that would be great.

Also, on a side note because I need to vent, I would like to add (hopefully this won't upset anyone) that I had the misfortune of going to Audi Edinburgh the other day before deciding to get an M3 and I have never, ever had such a bad experience in a dealership anywhere else. Properly bloody awful, never again.

Anyway, look forward to hopefully meeting some fellow 'Pistonheaders' soon!

Cheers,
Jesse

Welcome.

Linlithgow is nice I was brought up there.
There is no real local car meets.
Bo ness has the hillclimb in september. Knockhill is only 30ish miles away in fife for trackdays.
Checkout the website tartantarmac for runs etc. Its more glasgow based though.

Hi mate, great news re the purchase of the M3!

Check out a group on facebook called Rev Limits - they host a number of track nights and also other events too. Maybe see you along at one in the future.

Re servicing, I use Autohaus at Loanhead who are a VAG specialist but I have seen M3's there too (E46's as well as E92's). Maybe worth finding an enthusiast/owners club on facebook and ask on there.

Try tarduff motors in linlithgow. Just before the railway bridge before the rugby club in linlithgow. Have seen everything from bentleys and ferraris to fiestas in there. They do have steep access road though.

Mill lane motors are also good for any general servicing.

If you just want to check out some interesting cars and chat locally there is Linlithgow Classics, you will see them on display at the Fennel during the summer once a month.

For not a lot Money join Monklands car club then you can use the Hillclimb course once a month for their track nights, always an big cross section of cars there from Austin 7 to Nobles and everything in between.

Worth the extra travel is use the great little sprint track at Kames in East Ayrshire, again cheap as chips and a great facility with the cafe just been done up also. They have monthly test nights and a few Sunday track days also, great bunch of folk there also.

There are two track evenings coming up at Knockhill on the 28th and 31st May I will be at and then a full day on 2nd June, all open pitlane which tends to keep the neds away.
