Can anyone one in and around Edinburgh advise
Discussion
East Lothian and Borders both copping it tight at the moment - lots of home-working today from my colleagues, and heavy snow is falling right now in Musselburgh, Wallyford, Port Seton, Haddington and Duns - don't know if it would be enough to disrupt the east coast mainline (which runs near all these places), but it wouldn't surprise me.

"It is the first time the Met Office has ever issued a red alert for snow in Scotland since its weather warnings system was introduced, and the first time one has been issued anywhere in the UK since 2010." The Independent.Have yourself a 'snow day'.

Scotrail running down services from 2pm. Then maybe restarting after morning rush hour tomorrow.
Right now Im going to say you have about a 75% chance of being cancelled.
East coast still seems to be running today, with delays I'll just wait and see what they advise in the morning. Right now Im going to say you have about a 75% chance of being cancelled.

Ahem. I was in the middle of this in early 2013 Red Weather Warning with a brand new MAN artic truck which, by the way, performed immaculately in the deep snow.Have yourself a 'snow day'.

If I had to go somewhere tomorrow I wouldn’t. But I’m in the Central Belt between Edinburgh and Glasgow. If Virgin say they can get you to Waverley I’d imagine you’ll be fine if you don’t need to go far beyond the city centre.

Virgin have said they are travelling to Edinburgh but not further north. The hotel is in the city centre, 5 mins walk from the station. They've also said the ticket is valid all day so the weather may improve in the afternoon as the weather warning ends at 10am. Guess I'll have to make a decision in the morning, it may be taken out of my hands if Virgin cancel travel north. If I had to go somewhere tomorrow I wouldn’t.
