Right guys

its the wife's birthday on Sunday and we're off on a road trip

driving from Aberdeen to Larkhall & back but looking for recommendation as to where I could stop off to treat her to a nice meal in a nice country house or similar

any where between the above places and I'm not bothered about going off the main route, so happy to take a diversion

give me your recommendations please

How are you timing it? 3 hour each way journey. Will lunch need to be close to Larkhall or part way down or up?

So you're looking at North Fife, Perthshire or around Dundee. I'd be going for something around St Andrews. The Seafood Ristorante for me.

I had been thinking Stirling towards loch lomand or A9
To take on some scenic driving as well

Fair enough, I was just thinking of a toodle up through the scenic parts of Fife on the way to lunch, take in the new Queensferry Crossing on the way. But yes, plenty of nice places around Perth.

I'd avoid the Crannog like the plague right now. Seemingly the new owners are complete wkers and there's story after story coming out of there about staff not being paid/paid wrong etc.
