Hi everyone, I know its a question thats come up before but businesses change hands and standards rise and fall, so...

Any recommendations of someone who can do a good repair on a scuffed front and rear bumper without quoting me the thick end of £2k for a full bumpers off respray like the main dealer has?

Ive used Ferrymill in Torrance in the past but not for many years, cant find any positive recent feedback.

TIA.

I got some keying damage repaired by Chipsaway at Shields Road - resprayed the whole side of the car & baked the paint. You can't tell there was ever any damage there or that it has been repaired. Was quoted less than half the cost of the large dealer accident repair centre next to the M74.

Ferrymill are generally pretty good.

McLarens in Kirky are also worth a shout.

Cheers. They certainly were 10 years ago when I last used them, have you used them recently?

I've heard nothing but good things about Mclarens, but I've been in several times for quotes over the years and they've been sky high with their pricing - both for private and insurance work. I'll be passing anyway so will swing in for comparison.

I've read reviews of chipsaway, and they've been very mixed, and the bad ones have unfortunately been very bad.

Thanks folks.

It's been 5 or 6 years since I used Ferrymill. Still the same management/owners as far as I know.

If I was handing back a lease car or looking to sell my car, then I'd consider using chips away or one of those type of franchises. But if it was my pride and joy..........

Same here. I was definitely avoiding the man-in-van type mobile repairs. I took the car to their body shop though & was perfectly happy. My parents had a bumper scuff on a new C3 fixed there as well, again they were happy. As ever, experiences do vary...
