Showcase (New M8 Layout)

I'm going to the showcase on Saturday for the first time since the new section of the M8 opened, is it easy enough to get to or have they made it difficult? On Google maps it looks like you have to get off the motorway at Newhouse and go along a side road then onto the old A8?
Yeah you do, it's a bit weird now, you come off the M8 at Newhouse then follow a new bit of road down towards Eurocentral where it crosses over to the old road.If you go too far though, you can come off at Baillieston as you always could, then (via a somewhat convoluted right turn involving three roundabouts) back onto the A8.
For what it's worth, if you've a choice, the Vue at the Fort is just a few miles on and is much nicer afaik

As said, you need to go off at Newhouse onto the A8 road.
This takes you down to a roundabout, stay in left lane and follow the signs, go on the A8 road towards Eurocentral, then follow signs for A8 again.
If you miss the Newhouse cut off, you are buggered for ages..
Next slip road is the A725, but that goes to the Raith and you would need to double back and go on the A8 from that.
It needs better signs and is a kinda stupid layout for getting to Eurocentral.

The showcase is seriously tired these days. I was there a couple of weeks ago to see American Made and thought the place was a dump. As mentioned above, Vue at the Fort is much better.
It was either early this year, or late last year, I was last at the Showcase. It was tired looking and a good bit more expensive than other cinemas then.It was very quiet for those reasons.
There is no doubt the new M8 layout has killed the Showcase, and not helped by further A8 works which closed the sliproad to it as well.
However there are various restaurants etc that depend on the Showcase as a destination - if it closes that whole place will have tumbleweed blowing through it !

Network Rail have been working on the Cutty Sark bridge for the last few months. No doubt they've been waiting years for the opportunity to get a closure to work on it!
Anyway, the eastbound side seems to be finished & the A8 underneath has now re-opened, but the westbound side is now being done and the on ramp from the Showcase to the A8 is shut. Diversion is pretty simple (ignore the official one) - up through Bargeddie, left at the roundabout onto Coatbridge Rd and you'll rejoin the normal route at the new roundabout under the M73 bridge. All the other ramps are open as far as I know.

The area has been in decline for a long time. Half the car park is sectioned off in front of the bowling as it wasn't needed. It was also a mess.
