Guys, I am on the hunt for a garage in Inverness who can carry out the simple job of removing a centre silencer and replacing it with a straight pipe on my Megane. The garages I have spoken to so far have been less than helpful...

Custom Craft Elgin, not Inverness I know, but worth the travel for a good job.

Another recommendation for Custom Craft in Elgin. I used him a few years ago and friends have used him since and have been very happy with the quality and cost of exhausts made.

Do you have a particular straight pipe to fit as replacement or does it need to be made up, if it needs to be made up to get a reliable a proper gas tight seal can take longer than you think, a straight forward butt joint would involve cutting and making up a suitable sized pipe and tack welding in position then removing section of exhaust to get proper all round weld otherwise it would be a case of a slip fit pipe which would possibly have to made up from different sizes if the exact size not available.
