Costco Edinburgh - fuel station coming soon
Discussion
Was in Costsco next to Ikea at Loanhead today (Edinburgh). The car park is being due up with signs saying a fuel station is being constructed. No opening date advertised that I could find, just a huge hole on show at the moment.
General feeling in other threads here and elsewhere is their fuel is good stuff and is usually a few pence cheaper than others so I'll be among the first in the queue when it opens
There has been a bit of a price war between Sainsbury and Asda at Loanhead of late but the Esso at Fairmilehead and the refurbed Shell off the bypass at Dreghorn have been taking the mick over the last few months.

3 large, presumably fuel storage tanks arrived on site this morning. So unless there's a fourth already there or it was still on the way it doesn't look like they'll have Super Diesel.
Presuming 1 for diesel, 1 for unleaded and 1 for super unleaded.
Ah ha - I saw a couple of big orange coloured tanks parked up in lay-bys of the bypass and A1 yesterday morning.Presuming 1 for diesel, 1 for unleaded and 1 for super unleaded.
Probably, that is their standard setup and their planning application is pretty clear they have a US template they just plonk down. 8 dual sided pumps with space between to drive through so there shouldn't be queues really.

Isnt it all just super unleaded and super diesel? or is premium diesel a different thing? I'm sure it was only 1 kind they had in haydock
Signature unleaded, premium unleaded and premium diesel:http://www.warehouses.costco.co.uk/fuel/
They make a play out of their standard unleaded containing additives that competitors supposedly only include in their premium stuff:

Fuel station now open by the looks of it. I glanced over as I was filling up in Sainsbury's and noticed cars coming in and out. Will try on my next fill up!
- Price is £1.109 for petrol, £1.159 premium petrol and £1.129 for diesel. Sainsbury's was £1.139 for petrol.

Indeed open now. 3p per litre cheaper than Sainsbury's for normal petrol and diesel.

I take it you need a Costco membership card to use the petrol station?
Aye - £33.60 a year. Assuming 3p a litre cheaper than normal it pays for itself if you use 1120 litres a year minus additional mileage to/from Costco and any donuts you buy in Costco for your work colleagues because you are there anyway colin79666 said:
