I've always used Kenneth Brown in Hillington for alignment.

I recently used McConechys at Speirsbridge Road Thornliebank for a 4 wheel alignment because my steering wheel was offcentre, handling was appalling and wandering. They've got a Hunter Hawkeye machine, and although your not interested in printouts etc theirs shows you all the adjustments made. Car drives a million times better now, I paid £70 (VW Jetta with multi link Independent rear suspension)

Similar issue here but I'm over Fife direction.

Have had less than great experiences with Kwik Fit previously (all of the toys, none of the talent springs to mind) so yes, could do without a print out and a complimentary coffee, would rather a wee man with grubby hands and who cares about what he's doing.

Cheers

I've previously used Gordon down at Caledonia wheel alignment but appointments are like hens teeth and I've got some big miles to cover this week,

A little out of Glasgow but Automek should be able to do the alignment. Plenty of people use them for track or roads setups.

What is the problem with the car? And is it just a front toe (tracking/alignment) you need (rather than a proper 4-wheel geometry)?

As above Automek could do it, but can be busy, and possibly overkill if its just tracking. A lot of kwik fits have full 4-wheel laser these days, and it is hard for them to get it wrong with that kit - and you'll get a printout to check, but they charge about £65-70, which again is overkill for adjusting the front toe.

car was aligned by the main dealer after driveshaft replacement, and has started eating tyres both front and rear. as well as feeling rather twitchy, will be interesting to see how they have it set up as its wearing outside edges on front and insides on the rear. that said the same main dealer handed me the car back with 8 litres of oil in it when its supposed to hold just under 6 frown

all sorted with somewhere though thanks guys decided to wait it out and managed to get an appointment at Caledonian on Saturday,

Guy at Qwik Fit in Paisley done a good job on my Skoda.

4 wheel alignment with printout was £75

I did have to get the kid at the till to remove things that weren't done (camber adjustment) but asides from that, the person doing the work was good.
