Ingliston Revival - 13th & 14th May

The Revival is back at the highland centre on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th May 2017. The best bits of the 2015 event are being taken forward and the less great bits have been removed.
The great news is that there is now a sprint under MSA regs (the sprint course is the southern part of the original track) as well as the parades (full circuit) from last time, minus the pace car. There will be no public supercar driving over the weekend which means there will be more genuine track action.
The event is going more classic with the focus being on the 1960's and 1970's with cars from the circuit's life (1965-1994) being encouraged. That said we're keen to invite everyone so extra special / rare stuff that is newer / older is welcome too! We've moved the car display concours to be more 'part of the action'. It will feel more like a festival and there is an appetite to have a mini version of the famous revival events down south.
There is a new track-side hospitality suite, a campsite, a vintage funfair, classic mini stunt show this time etc etc. The bar and food area will have a live music stage which runs into the evening. The list goes on.

The word 'Concours' always puts me off these kind of events as it appears to only welcome the best and shiniest of garage queens, and definitely not a more often than not, grubby, '87 Corvette daily driver like mine!

Went last year as a club and not much content to keep one there all day it has to be said ..but not this time for one reason lots of the owners cars are too young and the other the is the cost .. asking people to pay £20 to show their cars is a bit much.
Without our cars you have no show. It should be FREE to exhibiters most events we attend are at most £5 for a charity .I understand this is a commercial venture, but no cars no show.

I agree with Woody. If I'm taking my car to become an exhibit for someone to make money from I don't expect to be paying them for that pleasure, even if I am getting to see the show.
In the past I've been very happy making small charitable donations but I will never pay to have my car in a commercial event.

To be fair, you do get 2x weekend tickets as well for your single £19 car entry fee.
Still only interested in the racing bit though, ..that's what we need to see at Ingliston, not the shopping and black tie crap.
I was a regular there in the old days. Great times, ..still have a programme and 60p ticket!

I went in 2015 and was VERY disappointed. We had bought weekend tickets and booked the Norton House for the Saturday night to make a weekend of it. More a procession of cars mostly nothing to do with Ingliston Race Circuit and then Supercar track runs. Some nice cars in the club stands but hardly anything that related to the glory days of Ingliston.

Well done Sandy good to see you are having another revival weekend, I'm sure you learnt a lot after the first event and looks like you have made some alterations to the proceedings to improve it. Also good to see you supporting the Jim Clark trust and will make the effort to attend with some Lotus kit.
Ill be going and I am really looking forward to it.
Went to the last one and though it was a good 1st event - being an event organiser for Royal Deeside Speed Festival it will be great to see how its done elsewhere.
Funny that some of the negatives on here are exactly the same as what we got last year for RDSF!

I totally agree with this - I was hoping to have a club display at this with 5 of our club cars, but with one person unable to attend (but Ok for his car to go), and another person owning 2 of the cars, it was a complete non-starter - I cant ask someone to pay to take someone elses car in and the other guy has to pay twice???In the past I've been very happy making small charitable donations but I will never pay to have my car in a commercial event.
I didnt go to the revival last time - my wife did on hospitality and enjoyed it (probably the free wine & food), but like so many others I spoke to said, it was a bit "light" on anything else to see and seemed to be a vehicle for the supercar driving experience - sounds like it may be this again.....
I have no problem paying something to get in, but if you are exhibiting then this should be a token amount - you are adding to the spectacle after all:-
say a fiver, and you and 1 passenger get free entry for the weekend.
I think I'll send my money that weekend on a day-trip to the NW200 - usually a motorcycle day-return on the ferry is £25-£30 (3am- 11pm) and I get to see a real spectacle.

The sprint is nearly sold out which is great and shows a huge commitment from the commuity, thanks guys
The concours / car display is filling up and has moved to a different part of the venue.
Ticket sales are about 200% of 2015.
We're really excited to deliver a high quality event in Scotland, which is unique. It would be great to have you all there if you decide to come.

I do hope it is as successful show and you get a good turnout , and the weather is good .A lot off effort goes into organizing these event I know as I hold one every year for Porsches only called Porsche In The Glen and its free, because without the cars it would not take place.
Still think you have lost out by charging owners to display and putting an age limit on the cars to display .We need good quality shows in Scotland.

I was there with the mrs and kids today - rain aside we thoroughly enjoyed it (except the big wheel - daddy doesn't like heights!). My son and me were dressed up as rockers. Will be the only chance I get to be in touching distance of e-types, gt40s etc. Will definitely be going next year - although the kids might have to be taken by someone else so us adults can go for the VIP experience and possible a drinkie or two. Nice mix of vehicles - hopefully this will keep growing over future years.

Was an ok event, can see what they are trying to do and they can certainly build on for next year.
The marketing, flyers, banners, overall layout and programme were all very good, certainly can't fault the staff (some very easy on the eye too!)
But a distinct lack of cars, especially racing cars.
A celebration of a racing circuit, but without actual racing cars was a bit of a let down to be honest.
If I'd paid the £20 GA (or £56 hospitality) I'd feel a bit short changed, think that £10 - £15 would be more affordable to be honest
