Surface car park in Edinburgh ?
Discussion
A group of us are staying in the city centre for one night next week before touring the NC500. But it looks like our hotel has only an underground and I can't find online pointers to anything but multi-storeys nearby. Some of the cars are low with front overhangs and need to be off street, no ramps.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Including whether the out of town park and rides are worth considering.

There is lots of on street parking outside the Fettes Polis HQ that will be deserted after c 5.30 or so in the evening. 20 minutes walk from George Street, or 10 minutes in a taxi or by bus.
The Polis HQ is not a "station" so not a guarantee of it being much safer than elsewhere, albeit it is a nice area of town.
Not sure I'd like to leave a car overnight at the park and ride, although others may have direct experience.

This multi NCP is around the corner and it has spaces on the same level that you enter and exit so you wont necessarily need to go up and down ramps. It is shockingly expensive though.

Alternatively if you are parking up after 5:30 then you can stick them on single yellows nearby.

Perhaps not, if vandalism isn't a risk. We've parked up in the past at basic hotels that share parking with shopping centres, cinemas and McDonalds and the like and have had no trouble to date. Caterham / F458 / Exige would be the more obvious stuff, might be a Murci along also. Rest is relatively Q car.

Castle NCP offers 'premium' spots next to the entrance which I'm hoping means on the same level. We've booked a couple of cars in there and I'll give them a call tomorrow to check.
You'd be just as well parked on Castle Terrace (free on 1830-0830 on street) as the top level of the car park as they're equally as private.Gassing Station | Scotland | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
