I'm sorry Craigie, I don't understand the point you're making. What is it you were wrong about?

These figures only show conviction rates that, if they are to be believed, are all over the place for some unknown reason.

Oh, right, I see now. These figures are intriguing. Just look at the disparity between Jan/Mar 2014 only 6 in 3 months! Then soaring to 738 July/Sept!

What could be the possible reason for that? It's an enormous difference.

Then we have the Jan/Mar 2016 figures of 1444 offences but only 378 tickets issued. Why would they do that?

In some instances the number of reports to the PF added to the number of FPN exceeds the number of offences! Unless some numpty hasn't allocated the numbers to the correct columns, in which case it becomes meaningless.

The leading page states
Offences - Total number of camera activations where an offence can be proven to have taken place.
COFPNs - Issued Total number of Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty Notice (COFPN) issued, for offences
committed within the period specified.
Reports to PF- Total number of offenders who have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal, either in place of
a COFPN (e.g. excessive speed/foreign licence) or because the COFPN has not been paid,
for offences committed within the period specified

So I suppose this means the 2nd and 3rd figures may not add up depending on how many of the 2nd form part of the 3rd?

Re the number of offences being higher - I wonder how many of these will have been emergency vehicles? How many times a day, for example, will there be an emergency vehicle triggering the cameras on the A90?
