Classic Friendly MOT station - Perth

Hi all

Per the title does anyone have a recommendation for an MOT station in Perth likely to be cool with an old Spitfire?

I need to do a little work before MOT and would normally take it to Chic Doig in Fife at MOT time. But this year MOT has lapsed with car parked at my mother's place after becoming a dad diverted my focus elsewhere

I've found some places aren't that comfortable with 40 year old cars so interested if anyone with old cars around Perth has recommendations.

A little bit out of Perth, but I would recommend Castleton Motors in Auchterarder.

Cheers. The car is practically next to Broxden at the moment so driving to Auchterarder wouldn't be much hassle.

A bit further again but I took my '78 van to Castle Motors in Doune last week, no problems.

Cool. Thanks. Although with that distance I'm likely as well taking it to it's usual place near Kirkcaldy.

Any Perth locals on here with any recommendations. One suggestion I've had is Hamdani Motors in Tulloch?

I recommended Castleton because I took my old Evo VI there for its MOT recently and they struck me as being friendly, honest and genuinely interested in old/sports cars. An old Morgan was in the MOT bay when I arrived and Series 1 Landy was being attended to in the yard.

In Perth itself - I've had a kit car MOT tested at Cherrybank garage a couple of times without problems and had our daily drivers tested at Alastair Reid's, again without any issues.

G&M Mechanical Services on Inveralmond was also highly recommended to me. I gather a large part of their business is rally car preparation but they do MOT prep and other work (tests are done at garage next door) I was going to take the Evo there but we could not find a date to suit.

Call harbour garage and discuss requirements best garage in Perth I have used by miles, recommended them to loads of people and no negative reports. Barry and Mark are top guys.
