Made the mistake of driving my car to work last week, to return to it at the end of the day and find a cracked diffuser and rear bumper. A witness claims it was a taxi driver reversing out of a parking space, and into my car.

No note, no number, no CCTV.

These are the same taxi drivers that pull out the 'professional driver' card when they cut you up at junctions. How do these people get licenses? furious

Taxi driver here

Nothing professional about most of our industry to be honest

Any idiot can become a taxi driver in most places as long as they pass the laughable criminal records check of their local authority(I say laughable as I know there's rapists and murderers out there driving cabs)

Most though not all are racing to their next hire probably overworked and over tired driving a car that isn't theirs and they just don't care about

You might be lucky most company taxis/minicabs are gps tracked you should in theory be able to contact your local companies to see if any of their cars were in the area at the time(by area I mean within 5 feet of your car) the gps tracking we use is fantasticly accurate

Tried my luck with the local companies and got the usual 'Sorry we can't help, you'll have to go to the police' - looks like I'll be paying for these repairs furious
