Just wondering if anyone in the Aberdeenshire area is able to do electrical repairs for my old 1991 BMW E34? Its not running at the moment and can't really take it anywhere without paying for a recovery, so if anyone is able to come to me that would be perfect!

It might be a super simple fix, but anything electric is far beyond my understanding, so expert help would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is not receiving power, and after replacing it the issue persists. Checked fuses, might a relay problem but not sure how to solve that.

Anyway, let me know if you have any recommendations!

Sorry I should've mentioned; based between Insch and Huntly.

Have you checked that the fuse is actually live, the relauy feeds power to the fuse and used to be quite a common failure on older BMWs, just take a link wire from the nearest live fuse of the same rating and see if that powers up the pump.

Thankfully I no longer need this, I've manage to fix it thanks to the super helpful guys over on Bimmerforums! Turned out some ominous aftermarket wiring was the culprit, and cutting it out and restoring the original circuit fixed things!

Very glad I no won't have to be paying to get someone over, the car recovery was expensive enough!
