Hi All,

Been lurking for a while, first post alert!

Looking to take my CBT at some point after Xmas (probably more like March/April once the weather gets a bit better). I've googled around and seen a fair few places that offer a CBT in/around Aberdeen.

The main thing is I don't just want an easy life of it, it's taken me years to decide that I want to pursue getting my bike licence and I want it to actually be useful and teach me tangible skills that will help me adapt to life outside of my metal box when on the road. I get it's a fairly standard procedure and ultimately "you learn once on the road" but I'll be a total newbie to motorbikes and I don't just want the Papa John delivery driver special £80 pat on the back and off you go!

Anybody got any tips who have maybe been through a CBT locally themselves?

Thanks.

I did mine with Simon Harding, of Aberdeen Bike School. Thoroughly recommend him.

Great - many thanks for the replies guys. And yes I take the point that extra lessons would definitely be worth the money. Having a hunt around the internet highlights some fairly shocking questions on forums of the like "I'm doing my direct entry course next week, which 600cc supersports bike should I buy?"

Definitely not the route I want to go!
