Hi guys, heading to Scarborough in the morning, which road is better/quicker?
The A9 or the A68?
Thanks

A68 over Carterbar is a great run and so is the A697 via Coldstream but which ever route you take... the weather will be against you tomorrow.

A697 is better imo than the A68. More places to overtake. The A68 is probably a more fun road (and more scenic) but guaranteed you'll get stuck behind someone. There's a few speed cameras too.
Once you get to the North Yorkshire Moors, the B1257 can be fun. Will be busy though. Check out the Blakey Ridge road too.

Progress-wise I'd expect the A1 to be the best way out of Scotland...?

Seriously frustrating road though, in (single carraigeway) places.
Ironic road number.

Yeah totally. I generally take one of the 6x to go down the way, but when I just want home, come up the A1 smile

Take the A9 and turn left at Thurso! Far better place than Scarborough!
