Nearly went off the road in shock, seen a white and the other was black with I think Swiss plates on today on the A82 road to Inverness.

Sorry Mally and Mojo, it wasn't doubt, just the astonishment of seeing two of the wee buggers on the same day!! I love them, and 'grales.
I grew up with the original q; a 10v first, which reset my ideas on driving in the wet. A true revelation at the time, followed by two 20vs. My driving style and preference fit like a jigsaw with fast 4x4 turbo audis. (notsomuch the modern overly heaviness of the front-end though)
Forgive me for this but I can't help but think that the success of the current Golf R is down to the way it, in modern day terms, brings quattro driving to the masses, and by all account does a frigging good job of it.
