Between Dumbarton and balloch just now. Just pulled two bikers.
There is an event stopped at Starbucks in Dumbarton heading that way with Aston M3s tvrs and a Lambo heading in that direction.
Anyone want to give them the heads up if you know anyone taking part.

I've never seen the police on unmarked bikes - Is it BMWs they drive? Colour?

Pretty sure it was a burgundy Blackbird in the past.

That is the point of using unmarked vehicles! There is a black Suzuki that frequents the A93 through Glenshee.

What model of Suzuki out of interest? The only Polis activity I have seen on the A93 is occasionally cars on the long straights East of Braemar, although I tend not to travel at "peak" times. I do always worry about the road south of Braemar though!

Have never seen any police on that bit south of Braemar. Often seen them between Blairgowrie & Perth and all along the A94. That's excluding the training runs they do between Coupar Angus and Perth Airport, which have caused me many stressful moments.

Never! Although it has become slightly more difficult in recent times due to an increasing number of non 'SF' plated unmarked cars, they are relatively easy to spot. I would be inclined to say that I haven't seen that many of unmarked bikes because they are far fewer in number and are probably used more often in the summer months on the roads bikers tend to frequent.

I was heading south from Glenshee in the Cobra one day last summer and just after the Spittal I noticed the bike in my mirrors. It was a lovely quiet day and I was just enjoying the scenery and road so wasn't speeding. The bike held station about 150 yds behind me, which I thought was unusual, even though there was ample opportunity for it to pass. I knew that there were temporary traffic lights up ahead as I had passed them on the way up, and as I approached them they were at red so I stopped short to let the bike pass. The bike came along side and it was then that I noticed the police crest on the petrol tank and video camera. The officer commented on my car and as soon as the lights changed he was off like a bat out of hell! The bike was a black Suzuki but that is all I can tell you as I don't know much about them.

There are signs on the A84 between Stirling and Callander warning that unmarked police bikes are in use.

Last year we had a run with some Audi's and there was a couple of unmarked bikes around Garve area just past Inverness. I has travelled up in the morning, so was playing catch up. When I met up with all the others, they then told me about the bikes.... glad I didn't see them.
