Supplier / fitter of composite doors - recommendations?
Discussion
Not sure if there is a GAP, supply only they don't fit, in Glasgow (think there is but a quick google tells me Bellhills outside is closest http://www.gap.uk.com/depot-network/bellshill ) we replaced the rear PVC door of our house with a new Composite door from Rockdoor . Rough measurements are :
- Width 890
- Height 1970
Got this from GAP in Falkirk for the Rockdoor the doors are as follows :
Rockdoor Vermont Ultimate : This can be supplied by https://www.gap.uk.com/depot-network/falkirk
http://www.rockdoor.com/gallery/ultimate-series-ve...
Paid £800 inc VAT for the door; fitting was around £150 inc materials
Fitted with Bar handle and plain misted glass
No letter box but as shown in the above link - Grey door & frame
Rockdoor are way better than the normal composite's, and I'd say not far off the quality of exuberantly expensive Hormann front door !!
GAP should be able to recommend a local fitter, we used a great joiner we have used before to fit but over here in Edinburgh.

Cheers dude
Had already done a bit of research and it seems that Rock Door & Solidor are the ones to go for, so it's good to know I'm on the right track! I've now sent an email to GAP, so just waiting to hear back from them.
My girlfriend got quote from XL Joinery (catalogue was given to us by the joiner who'll be fitting the door) for a composite door yesterday, which came to £485 plus VAT. Which strikes me as being very reasonable, but after doing my research, I've since realised that not all composite doors are equal, and given the cheapness of the XL door, I'm drawing assumptions on it's quality...

Yep thats the problem they are not all the same. Plenty of threads in Home forum, here is link to my original one :

It came down to rockdoor and solidor and really happy with the rockdoor - it is pretty decent quality for sure.
