Past this tonight and curious if anyone else saw it and knows what happened? The positioning of the two smashed cars I saw just didn't tally up somehow?

I live in Newton but just back from holiday. Where abouts did it happen exactly? Any more details?

Right at the bottom at the Uddingston side, right on the junction. When I passed both cars, a Sportage and a big Merc 4x4 were both smashed in on the front with airbags etc off but both cars were facing the same way and as folk were being treated in the vehicles I don't think they had been moved to the side or anything?

Didn't seem to be any other damaged vehicles

That will be the third I know of there in the last six months then. It's bit crazy for a number of reasons IMO:

  • Cars turning left at that junction (to head towards the roundabout) often stop to give way to traffic instead of following the road round.
  • Cars turning right to go onto the Farm Road often take chances , pulling out at the last minute in front of cars coming from the Uddingston direction.
  • It amazes me the number of drivers coming from Uddingston who don't actually give way when they are turning left onto the Farm Road, which has led to some cars turning right slamming on their brakes in the middle of the road as a result.
I'm starting to really dislike that whole area of road tbh, particularly in the evening. The number of morons coming from the Daldowie direction who are treating that roundabout as a two lane straight ahead because the right lane is backed up at rush hour is becoming worrying.

Rant over, hope those involved in the latest accident are alright.

And another one tonight - saw the traffic cops clearing up debris on the main road and a car being transported away. No idea of specifics but surely something needs to be done there.
