Hey everyone,

Need your help. As many of you know the Council are trying to impose an absurdly low 20mph limit on us. The Traffic Regulation Order is going through it's consultation period so we need everyone to object.

The notice reads:

"Objectors must state their reasons in writing, with reference TRO/15/17 to Traffic Orders, Services for Communities, City Chambers, High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1ZL, or to CITYWIDE.20MPH@EDINBURGH.GOV.UK not later than 26 June 2015"

All you have to do is email CITYWIDE.20MPH@EDINBURGH.GOV.UK putting OBJECTION TO TRO/15/17 in the subject box then write your reasons for objecting. Some suggested reasons could be:

This will reduce my quality of life/remove enjoyment from driving/reduce time spent with family.
This will increase my commute time to work.
This will impact on my business/increase costs/increase non-productive time
The speed limit is acceptable on these streets and there is no justification for lowering it.
This may turn me into a criminal for doing what I do today.
This will make Edinburgh a less attractive place to live/work in/visit
Other cities have tried 20mph limits are a disaster for residents - I don't want the same here.
This will cause congestion in my area
20mph limits will slow down public transport.
I quite simply don't want this.
....The list could go on forever.

You can object to specific streets or the whole order.

Please email them by 26th June.

If you haven't done so please like the Facebook page and sign the petition.

Email sent. At the back of my mind i cannot see how objections will do anything when our council has no interest in listening to the people though. frown
