Is it a 113 or a 107? I am guessing 113 in which case I would call Merparts in Port Glasgow and see what they would suggest. Mine needed a LOT of specialist fettling, as they all seem to do unless its had a massive £££ refurb.
Roseburn Garage Edinburgh. Not exactly local, but I find them excellent. They have completely rebuilt several classic mercs a lot older than yours. They have done an XJS and an MG for me. Don't be put off by appearances. They can fix things, not replace!
