So, anyone got real world experience / comparison of O2 vs Three for central belt and specifically in Edinburgh? My phone won't do O2 4G, but will do Three because they're a different frequency apparently.

3 and EE run on a different band for 4g over O2 and others. I get my 3 signal from almost everywhere I've been in the central belt.

Someone asked this before, I've got 3 and get 4G in the city centres no problem. I get decent reception in the central belt with the exception of a couple of black-spots on the Lang Whang. Seems to be the closer you stand to a transmitter, you get drop out.

Thanks for the tips.

I just know I can get the All-you-can-eat data on Three for less than I can get a paltry amount on the O2 network. Based on my current 'deal' my 1Gb disappears quite quickly and a couple of times, I've run out. However, I didn't want to jump ship on the basis of their coverage maps alone as in that case Three don't appear to do as well. Real world experience wins in my mind.

I'm based in Edinburgh, but work just outside Glasgow, with other offices in Perth and Stirling being high on the visit rate, so want to make sure that I don't cut my own throat so to speak by jumping for the cheapest tariff just for the sake of a few pennies.

You could stick a PAYG sim in a spare phone if you have one lying around and monitor the signal.
I'm on 3 and travel around central belt/Perth/Dundee quite often and stream the radio in the van with very little drop out.
I do find it a little patchy the further up the A9 I go (after Perth).
All in all I'm happy with 3's coverage, 4G seems to be getting more widespread.

I am currently with O2 but looking to move purely due to their poor deals on upgrade.
Had a look at the Three coverage checker on their website and it would appear that they only have 4G in the major cities and you will be lucky to get any signal in between!

That was my interpretation too, but I figured I'd ask for real world experiences first.
