Search didn't show anything, so I thought I'd post this up;

The Ingliston Revival is bringing Scottish motoring back to Edinburgh with the re-launch of Ingliston Racing Circuit in September 2015.
For the first time in 20 years Ingliston will provide car enthusiasts, owners and spectators with the exciting opportunity to experience the heyday of Scottish motoring. Book the weekend: keep 11th – 13th September clear.

Yes most of the track is still there. It was used a couple of years ago for a round of The British Sprint Championship. However in the area where the track used to pass in front of the Grandstand (Arena) there is a new grandstand built on the old track which will have to be avoided by the use of a couple of hundred metres on non-original track.
The bigger issue I would think is that the MSA will not allow racing as there is almost no Armco left and spectators would be in great danger as would competitors if more than one car was on the track at any time. The track surface is also less than perfect and and breaking up in places so it's unlikely unless it was all resurfaced it would be suitable.
Having said all that I don't think the event is a return to racing at Ingliston but maybe more a return to the site of the cars that used to race there, either as static displays or demonstration laps, together with some passenger rides in the organisers main business fleet of high end modern exotic cars and some motor-sport related exhibitions.
I would love to relive my youth and go and watch all my heroes race again round Ingliston but I think that is extremely unlikely.

Finally, what has the potential to be a half-decent classic motoring festival in Scotland. Even if it is only a quarter as good as Goodwood FoS/Revival, Cholmondley PoP etc it will be nice to have something on the doorstep and not to have to schlep all the way down South and back.
Worth a punt for £20 a ticket.

I would love to go a and do Goodwood, but it's a long way away. Ingliston has a good motorsport history, so why not !! Worth a punt for £20 a ticket.
As above, got to be worth a punt.
What, the Scottish Vintage Tractor and Engine Club Farming Yesteryear and Vintage Rally 2015? I think the Ingliston Revival has the potential to be a somewhat bigger and better event, particularly with the track-based element, but I may be doing the SVTEC a disservice. You could always go to Ingliston on Saturday 12 September and SVTEC on Sunday 13 September), as the Ingliston event runs both days.

Seriously cannot see how they could run racing around the planned layout for show areas. Theres next to no armco left and haybails arent going to cut it.
You may be right. The website talks about various classes of classic cars "taking to the track once more", but that could well just mean parade laps rather than racing. Still, it's always nice to see and hear cars in motion, even if not driven in anger. Bear in mind that an event like Goodwood FoS has had over 20 years to build itself up to what it is now, so if this first Ingliston Revival is a sucess, who knows what the future may hold? But perhaps I'm getting carried away. Maybe it will be rubbish. Will still go, though.

Yes thats the one and it has a fair amount of classic car clubs and private classic car entry's normally in attendance most of which have already booked there spaces there for this year (well the classic car clubs have anyway) that and the fact the Ingliston Revival is very poorly advertised it my have a bit of an adverse affect for this year at the least!Like you say Saturday at one and Sunday at the other is what i will be doing this year as im already booked to go to Scone and to be honest it is one of the better Scottish shows mainly due to the huge boot sale and variety of machinery from bikes to trucks. Just a shame it clashes
Fortunately I am home for this so will be going along. I will be interested to see what they do about the Arena section as, as someone mentioned earlier, last time I was there competing in a sprint there was a grandstand on what was the track. There is an access road behind the grandstand which was used as part of the pits, perhaps it will be utilised.
I can't forsee anything other than demonstration laps with cars strung out or one/two on track at a time due to safety concerns, but it could still be interesting.

I'm curious. Granted there is a certain nostalgia to racing at Ingliston, but how many of those planning on making the trek have or do venture 15 miles away to see classic cars, actually racing, at Knockhill?
Morgans, Escorts, Minis, Fiestas, Alpines, Alfas, Lotus' and even the odd Ginetta. 7 race weekends a year and 6 other race series also in attendance.

Hi all,
I'm from the event organiser and can hopefully can answer some questions.
The original track does have the grandstand built over it at Arena so we're using the secondary access road (used to be the pits) which is being re-graded, widened and resurfaced to match the rest of the track.
Your right to point out the venue isn't MSA compliant so there will be no racing. However there will be a lot of track activity and owners are invited to take part. There are various different categories of track activity, or if you prefer you can take your car to the static concourse. it goes without saying that safety is key to us and we've got one of the best motorsport safety consultants working on the project with us.
Our intention is to create a high-quality motoring event for Scotland which is full of great cars, experiences and attractions for all the family. We'll be releasing more information as we get closer to September. This is all within the context of celebrating Ingliston Circuit. 2015 is the first event but we intend for the Ingliston Revival to be an annual event and to build on that success year on year to be a major motor show and related entertainment for many years to come.
The feedback we're getting is great and we've got over 150 cars signed up. Given the public element of the event we've got a food village, beer garden etc available and a kids zone with lots of free rides etc to attract all the family.
Hopefully see you all there and of course please do check out our Facebook page for the latest info. https://www.facebook.com/InglistonRacingCircuit
