Anybody want a laugh (at my expense)
Long story short, the girlfriend bought a MX5 last jan / Feb she didn't want to pay the £500 quid extra for the one I wanted her to buy but instead purchased the cheapest mx5 (mk2.5) in Scotland at the time.
The car had obv been in a crash at some point.
The panels dont line up, the paint is terrible and there's been more than a few bodged repairs.
But she liked the colour. (crystal blue with a blue canvas roof)
repairs so far have been minimal, just usual stuff like pads disks and a seat belt. (basically trying to spend as little money on it as possible as its a proper shed).
Over the winter there has been the odd occasional puddle forming / sills filling up with water.
I've had them sorted at a garage local to my work for buttons.
But over the last while the water ingress has been constant. The carpets are soaked, rotten and stinking!
Start last weeks task, remove the roof to access this:

A blocked drain hole.
So anyone that knows me will knows i'm not exactly japanese built so fitting in the back of an mx5 to remove the roof is a s
t job. Hands are buggered and back broken.
Yesterdays task, remove the dash and ALL interior to fit a new non rotten carpet.
Because the interior of the car was so buggered I picked up a FULL interior from a local scrappy. Seats, carpets, door cards, dashboard, all plastic trim etc etc. Everything to change the interior from the ripped black cloth to cream leather
The car interior now looks a lot better, there's no leaks rattles everything fits in girlfriend is happy with it.
One problem I realised as I was fitting the last of the wires. The dashboard is from a mark 2 mx5. I have a mark 2.5 some of the electrics are different.
The speedo doesn't illuminate and the fogs dont come on.
Bugger
Dash conversion part 2 in a couple of weeks. Remove the dash and rob the cables from the original dash and re-fit.

The aerial has been missing since purchase of the car. I did try and use a big long metal prodder to unblock them 1st but with no luck.
After I took the plastic drain trim out I realised why. The pipe that goes down to the bottom of the car was badly bent. At the bend a nut had been stuck and the pipe had subsequently blocked up with a good few cm's worth of sludge.

^^^ note the description...
Scrappy wasn't interested and I'm not keeping a cars worth of bits in the shed on the off chance someone needed a bit.
I've already picked up a brush similar for future but the only way to get that drain unblocked was to completly remove the drain trim. Such a crap design. Should have something at the top to stop things dropping down.
