Have been trying to arrange parking in Edinburgh for the weekend 15th to 17th, for 2 vehicles, with a budget of £30. It has taken me 5 F**king days to hear back from a gentleman (who claims to reply to all requests within 2 hours) on one of these park at my place websites, and doesn't seem to understand the most simple of requests like:

Do you mind if the cars turn up separately?

or

Once parked do we have 24 hour access to the vehicles e.g. can we come and go as we please? (within reason, nothing late at night, or pre 8am)

No money has yet changed hands but, just...
AAARGH!
that is all.

Side note: If you live within a mile and a half of Haymarket railway station and wouldn't mind a couple of cars parked up for a weekend there would be £30 and a crate of beer or bottle of wine in it for you.

I realize that this was a feeble rant, i'm just to sleepy to care smile

There's free parking around Murrayfield Avenue:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Murrayfield+Avenue...

It's about a mile away and there's a bus straight straight into town (bar the chaotic roadworks). There's no 6 nations this weekend so assume it'll be quiet.

Alternative you can park here:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Morrison+Link,+Edi...

£12.50 a day but it's watch out it's 24 hours.

Doesn't look secure but it just opposite the cop shop. Always has spaces.

I never take my car beyond Murrayfield, I park up and take the Loser Cruiser in.

Seriously, park in Balgreen or thereabouts and save 30 quid in parking.

There is underground parking off Semple street. Maybe worth looking at? I think it's around £5 a day.

I use the Semple St one for work sometimes and it costs me £12 for a working day, not sure if weekend rates are cheaper though...

Thanks for the help guys, I think I'm going to head for the West end travel lodge, as it seems they have a pay and display machine which charges £7 for 24 hours. Can anybody confirm if this can be used for non residents, as this seems to vary from the travel lodge site, to the car park operators site :S

I had a great time, however my physio tells me that climbing with a serious case of frozen shoulder is a bad idea, regardless of how many painkillers have been taken before hand biggrin Also dislocating the bloody thing during a good fall at ratho wasn't entirely pleasent either. Luckily a fellow student (physio student) relocated it in time for me to eat more co-codamol and continue smile Headed to go ape on the sunday, before driving home on the Sunday evening unable to move my right arm. All in al, pretty good weekend. Spotted a few smileys on the motorway as well.
