Strathearn Engineering - top blokes!
Discussion
Garages tend to get more bad press than good on here as we're all guilty of moaning about the bad rather than praising the good so I felt these guys were worth a mention.
My sister was travelling up the A9 last weekend when her front spring snapped in her Mondeo. With the spring rubbing against the tyre and smoke pouring from it she got a police escort to the nearest garage - Strathearn Engineering. She explained she had a ferry to catch in Ullapool and they kindly loaned her a courtesy car, said they'd source the part and fit it same day, and as she was returning the next day they'd have the car ready to collect on her return. Even though they'd be closed when she was passing by on the road back to Glasgow they said to call and one of the local boys would drive down, open up and do the paperwork and give her the repaired car back. All done at a very reasonable price.
It wasn't a big money job, it wasn't likely to get them any repeat custom from her personally (a Ford owner that lives in Glasgow), yet they went out of their way to be helpful above and beyond what you'd expect. The least I can do is recommend them as all round decent guys to deal with

Land rover garage by any chance?
If so they are on the Disco3.co.uk forum, i've met one of the workers a few times at the local meet, he travels from Dundee to come along. Nice guy who's helped me out with my questions. There are many very happy customer's on the Disco site that get good work done at good prices.

I had heard many good things about Strathearn online. Good reputation on Disco3.co.uk and they've been nothing but helpful with me. Pricing and customer service are excellent.
Nice to hear it's not just LR customers they're like that with.
I just wish they were nearer, I'd get to use them all the time.
