I've always been a bit curious since moving to Aberdeen, the two buildings that have sat derelict for ages on West North St, in between Morrisons and the student halls (almost in Morrisons car park), what were they before? Have heard the hall type building at the front was a homeless shelter/centre thing.
No real reason for wanting to know this other than curiosity.

Yep thats been empty / derelict / homeless shelter ever since I came to Aberdeen about 10 years ago.. I assume its probably a listed building, therefore more difficult to develop. Odd as its a fairly central, prime location for something..

Ah I see, was watching some of the demolition (it's hard not to, as I live in the student halls next door) and the innards of the house looked like it could have been a student house years ago, I suppose it'd have been ideal as a homeless shelter once the students were done with it. Almost strange to look out the window and see nothing there now. I wonder what they'll do with the land, as you say it's a prime location, but if it gets turned into flats, I can't imagine too many non students being content with living in Morrisons car park.
