Going into Edinburgh today in the 911 (964) and had a white Renault 5 Turbo behind with a cut off bonnet, he decides to pull a dangerous overtake nearly causing a collision with an oncoming vehicle.

Reckon it was so he could "show off" his acceleration to me or overtake a 911.

Why do some people act like complete t4@ts when trying to impress.

As a petrol head I would have appreciated his vehicle static at the lights rather than acting like a tool.

Seems to be a common occurrence, I had an RX8 follow me less than 2 foot from my bumper in my e60 M5 on the Edi bypass, literally no matter what I did he was still dangerously close to me when I looked in my mirror.

Plonker.

Try spending a few hours driving an Integra Type R, at times it seems to be a magnet for clowns!

Maybe it's a spoiler thing as the 911's spoiler was up ;-)

Must admit that when I had the EvoVIII it was the worst car for attracting attention. Luckily most people know that it was a futile challenge.

Although not the same cars by any means I know where you are coming from, I have a problem with some Vxr owners. Every time I'm out and about I can almost bank on an Astra Vxr owner zooming past me and pulling in harsh in front of me. For about two months whilst working out in Blackburn I met the same Astra Vxr at the haudigan roundabout in town and whilst sitting in traffic he would rev his engine over and over.....and stare at me.

Get it a lot in the vette, usually around the wrongly conceived idea that American cars dont handle, but occasionally its downright road rage. But funnily enough I had I this morning when I was in my Skoda Yeti! Heading down to Peebles behind a diesel Range Rover who is braking at strange times and maxing at about 55mph, we get past Flotterston and with a clear road I overtake settle down to a 64/65 indicated and the next thing he's right up my arse! No telling with some folk, sad really.

Black? Had a similar experience with one in that area a while back, he was trying very hard to get in front of me in traffic. Total bell end.

Definitely not as nice as a 5 Turbo Maxi, just a normal 5 Turbo with a couple of max power additions.

When out in the Tuscan i drive like a girl usually, doesnt stop people in corsas, astras, impreza (usually clapped out k platers) and the like pulling stupid overtakes. Do they get turned on telling there mates they smoked a quick car that was going slowly, does my nut in!

The first time I took the TVR to work, it was very thick fog. I was going about 40 in a 60 zone. A punto attempted to overtake and as he passed me, the lights of a lorry appeared. He literally just missed it after doing a Tyre squealing emergency stop. It didn't deter him from overtaking straight away when the lorry passed.

In the rover, people leave me alone (stealth mode).

I think I've met that exact plonker. A metallic grey one? Drove *right* up my chuff for about 4 miles, despite me showing him the vast difference in performance between our respective cars, before "roaring away" when I pulled off at my junction.

No one tailgates me now... frown

Did have a 206 try it while using my brothers old shape civic type R once. I wasn't in the mood for it so sat at 50 then 60 from high street junction on the m8, till showcase with this guy behind me, constantly trying to get a reaction.
Finally had enough, thought, "fk ye", did a 6-3 gear change and floored it. Didn't let off till I had run 3-4-5th through and was well into 6th. Eased off to find no 206 in my mirrors... hehe

Did also blow a boost hose on the bucket when it had just been remapped... was making progress with an A3 at typical Audi motorway distance behind. Blew a hose and threw out a black smoke screen an oil rig fire would have been jealous of... He was way back when I lifted to stop it smoking. biggrin Silicone hoses put an end to that issue.

It seems it doesn't matter what you drive, as long as it's a quick car plonkers will tailgate you or do stupid moves to get past.

I get it all the time in my subaru (not a clapped out k plate, although it is a classic). Even get when on the bike. How do they expect an R1 to keep up with their ultra low pug 206??...lol
