They are looking at 3 options. All of them expensive. A road over the top (with compulsory purchase of the land), a bridge at Strome with bypass round the back of Lochcarron, or bringing the existing road out over the loch on the other side of the railway line (more problematic than it sounds). They can't agree.

This section of road was blocked in March 2012. Had to use the ferry, no problem in a rental shopping trolley. Has the long term stuff which was being done then been fixed? ie will the road be clear by March 2013 or will there be ongoing works?

Hi Daz. This fall is due to be cleared in a week... but long term there will be a radical re-think. (BIG disruption) e mail me before you come up and I'll give you the full SP. Can't see it starting until 2014 as they are shouting at each other as to the best plan.
